In 2013, New Era expanded its reach when it became part of the National Football League’s licensing portfolio. Now the American cap company is making another huge splash in its hometown of Buffalo, NY.

The top-selling New Era NFL team hat was, undoubtably, the Dallas Cowboys.  The Cowboys’ sales numbers cannot be disclosed and remain proprietary information, due to their ownership agreement with the NFL.  However, according to Forbes.com, other top teams include:

San Francisco 49ers:  159,745 caps

Oakland Raiders:  141,610 caps

Chicago Bears:  98,058 caps

New York Giants:  89,474

This year, New Era is expected to produce an additional 100,000 pieces of NFL headwear out of its plant, based in Derby, NY. Besides satisfying its global fanbase, the increased production will also bring more jobs to western New York. Earlier this month, the Buffalo Bills’ announced their plans to rename their home stadium New Era Field. Both announcements will give New Era increased exposure to a global network of NFL fans.
