We bet our bottom dollar that your eyes were glued to the television screen, this past Sunday as the world’s biggest stars of the small screen assembled for the Emmys. We’re not here to give you any spoiler alerts, just in case you haven’t gotten a chance to hit play on your DVR. For us the next best thing to winning the whole kit and kaboodle, aka big shiny trophy, would be getting our hands on one of those pricey swag bags. This year, according to E! News, just one of the Emmys gift bags were worth a jaw-dropping $55,000.
The contents of the bag ranged from the unusual to the unique, but one thing is for sure — everything was expensive.
E! News spilled the tea on a swag package offered by GBK Productions. For the record, GBK Productions is not even associated with the Television Academy. Nevertheless, they hosted a dope gifting lounge for Hollywood A-listers. The contents of the bag ranged from the unusual to the unique, but one thing is for sure — everything was expensive.
One of the promotions that caught our eye was a $100 Ageless Pen from Pilot Pens. Our familiarity with Pilot is that cheap plastic ten pack of pens that you buy from the drug store when you are in a pinch. Obviously, our experience is somewhat limited. It now seems that Pilot now has a luxury pen valued at one C-note a pop, which is cool if you are a celebrity. We’re just stoked that we have the same brand of pens in our office, in a ten pack, of course.
What’s the gift that keeps on giviving? Well, undoubtedly plastic surgery, if you are a celebrity. Recipients the GBK Productions gift bag also received $1,000 in plastic surgery gift certificates from Viva Youth. It still made us do a double-take but seems pretty typical, considering the crowd.
Other swag bag standouts included:
- $8,000 vacation to the Belmond La Samanna in St. Martin.
- Bathrobes from Wrapped in a Cloud.
- $600 worth of free dental work from Bedford Dental Group.
- Flamingo pool floats (We prefer the donut floats, but maybe that’s why we’re not on TV.)
- Use of a service that creates wrapping paper out of your face.
- $1,000 worth of Italian food from Il Palato
- Promo T-shirts
One thing’s for sure, it ain’t half bad being famous.
